The State of North Carolina specifically identifies a Qualified Solar Contractor as a licensed Electrical Contractor. Third Party Certification is optional and DOES NOT supersede North Carolina's Electrical Contractor license requirement. A reputable, Qualified Solar Contractor should have proven business stability. Windsong Energy's management team has over 70 years experience in the construction and electrical industry. Longevity is extremely important when it comes to service after the sale.
Consumers should thoroughly research a potential Contractor before signing a Contract. A license legally allows a Contractor certain privileges to perform a given service. A license DOES NOT guarantee the workmanship or validate the business ethics of the licensee. Besides a North Carolina Electrical Contractor's License, the Qualified Solar Contractor should also provide:
- Certificates of Insurance (General Liability, Workman's Compensation and if required Commercial Vehicle).
- Business and Personal References.
- Project File containing addresses of Installations for visitation and inspection.
- Reference from an Electrical Inspector.
Solar Electric Generating Systems are construction projects involving many structural aspects. Therefore, the Qualified Solar Contractor should be experienced in all phases of construction, including OSHA requirements. Windsong Energy is a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor and management holds the OSHA-30 Construction Industry Certification administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. Windsong Energy's factory-trained employees install every system we sell. All installations are overseen by our on-site North Carolina licensed Project Manager.
